Music

Music is probably one the greatest things in my life. Creating music and just listening to music are the most peaceful things in this earth for me. So here are some quotes about music:

-Plato

“Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.”

-Angela Monet

“To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself, incredible and inconceivable.”

-Aaron Copland

“Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music”

-Sergei Rachmaninov

“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent”

-Victor Hugo

“Music is love in search of a word.”

-Sidonie Gabrrielle

“Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Music fills the infinite between two souls”

-Rabindranath Tagore

“Music is God's gift to man, the only art of Heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to Heaven.”

-Walter Savage Landor

Books

Well, books are probably my favorite thing in the world. Or one of my favorite things anyway. Like Erasmus says: "If I have a little money I buy books; and if any is left, I buy food and clothes.”
So here are my favorite quotes about Books and Reading.

“Read the best books first, or you may not have a chance to read them all”

-Henry David Thoreau

“A book is a gift you can open again and again.”

-Garrison Keillor

“Books are for people who wish they were somewhere else.”

-Mark Twain

“Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.”

-Mark Twain

“You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.”

-Paul Sweeney

“These are not books, lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves.”

-Gilbert Highet

“A classic is a book which people praise and don't read.”

-Mark Twain

“If there's a book you really want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it”

-Toni Morrison

“If a book is really good, it deserves to be read again, and if it's great, it should be read at least three times.”

-Anatole Broyard

“Book lovers will understand me, and they will know too that part of the pleasure of a library lies in its very existence”

-Jan Morris
